Highlights of the tour: LEH CITY, HALL OF FAME, SHANTI STUPA, NUBRA VALLEY, PANGONG LAKE, CHANGLA PASS, SHEY, THIKSEY, HEMIS, KHARDUNG -LA-PASS K TOP, TURTUK. HANLEY – UMLUNGLA PASS .
Arrive Kushok Bakula airport Leh - Transfer to hotel. Breakfast at the hotel if you reach before 0930 hrs. Rest for half a day for acclimatization. Later in the evening walk around local market. Overnight stay at the Hotel in Leh.
After breakfast proceed for Sightseeing of 1000 years old Alchi monastery, the only Gompa in Ladakh region on flat ground. Thereafter proceed to the Likir Monastrey to visit the splendid three storeys Dharma Wheel Gompa. Here you'll be awestruck with the sight of the massive Buddha statues and the confluence or sangam of River Indus & Zanskar. Drive along the Indus river visiting, Pathar Sahib Gurdwara and Magnetic Hill (where the cars defy gravity), Basgo Palace which can only be hiked. Proceed further on to Leh Hall of Fame (which has a museum of the Kargil War memorabilia). Over Night at the Hotel in Leh.
Distance is about 220 kms.
After Breakfast drive to Nubra Valley via Khardungla (Highest Motorable road in the World, 18,380 ft). Arrive at Hundur by Afternoon. Post noon explore Hunder Village and camel Safari in Sand Dunes between Deskit and Hunder Village. Overnight stay at the camp / guest house in Nubra.
After Breakfast visit Turuk. The village offers views of the Shyok Valley. Though a Muslim village, there are a few gompas located on the plateau above the Shyok River and there is an old royal house to see in the village. Overnight stay at the hotel.
After early Breakfast leave for Pangong Lake (14,500 ft – the highest land locked lake), through Changla Pass 17,350 ft. The Lake is shared by two countries India & China. Enjoy the beauty of changing Colors of fascinating high altitude of the Lake. Overnight stay at the camp/ guest house.
After leisurely breakfast drive to Hanle, on the way cross Chushul Village and Tsaga La (15,200 Ft), Hanle, is home to the Indian Astronomical Observatory,one of the highest observatory in the world known for star gazing. As per history, it is believed that King Singge Namgyal died here at Hanle while on his return from an expedition on Mongols. Enjoy the stay with locals at local guest house/homestay in Hanle
After leisurely breakfast leave for visit to Umlingla – one of the highest Motorable road in the world at height of 19,300 Ft, drive of 2 – 3 Hrs one way, later back to Hanle. Evening free time at Leisure & exploring the local village. Stay overnight in Hanle.
After leisurely breakfast drive to Leh via Loma bend and Mahay, enroute visit Chumathanghot springs, Evening free time at Leisure. Stay overnight in Leh.
After an early breakfast you will be transfer to airport to board the flight towards your further journey.
