The forest is home to at least four prominent tribes - Jenu Kurubas, Betta Kurubas, Hakki Pikki, Yeravas. Occasionally you could see, how the Jenu Kurubas extract honey from the aggressive Indian Rock Bees.
Irpu Falls is located about 14 km from Nagarhole, at the base of Brahmagiri Range that forms the border between Karnataka and Kerala. It is located near Rameshwara temple. The beauty of Irpu falls is heightened after the rains. The well marked trail of the fall’s winds past a sacred banyan tree before disappearing into the forest.
